Consider the environmental factors of use

Temperature: If used in a high temperature environment, ensure that the material of the composite hose can withstand the corresponding high temperature. For example, in industrial high-temperature fluid transportation, it is necessary to select a composite hose with good high temperature resistance, such as a composite hose with special polymer film and metal wire winding, which can adapt to the transmission of high-temperature liquids and avoid deformation or damage of the hose due to high temperature.

Pressure: It should be selected according to the actual pressure. For example, in a hydraulic system, if the pressure is high, a composite hose with strong pressure resistance should be selected, and its internal structure and material should be able to withstand the corresponding pressure without breaking or leaking.

Corrosion: If it comes into contact with corrosive substances, such as when transporting acidic or alkaline solutions in the chemical industry, the inner lining and outer layer of the composite hose must have good corrosion resistance, such as a composite hose with a functional film such as Teflon with strong corrosion resistance as the inner lining.

 

Pay attention to the structural characteristics of the hose

Inner spiral steel wire: The inner spiral steel wire is usually made of different materials such as stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum alloy, polypropylene or TEFLON coated steel wire. If there are special requirements for the strength and flexibility of the hose, it can be selected according to these material characteristics. For example, the composite hose with stainless steel inner spiral wire has good strength and corrosion resistance and is suitable for harsh environments; while the composite hose with TEFLON coated steel wire inner spiral wire is more suitable for some occasions that require special chemical stability.

External spiral wire: basically stainless steel or galvanized steel is selected. The stainless steel outer spiral wire can provide better overall strength and corrosion resistance, while galvanized steel has certain advantages in cost and general protective performance.

Lining: According to the characteristics of the conveyed material, functional films such as Teflon, Polietilene, Nylon, and PET are selected. For example, when conveying greases, a composite hose with a Teflon inner lining may be more suitable because Teflon has good oil resistance; and for some ordinary aqueous solution conveying, the Polietilene inner lining may be able to meet the needs and the cost is relatively low.

Reinforcement layer and anti-aging outer layer: The reinforcement layer provides pressure-bearing strength for the hose to ensure that it will not easily break under pressure. The anti-wear and anti-aging colored outer layer can protect the internal structure of the hose and extend its service life. In scenarios where long-term use is required and the environment is susceptible to external wear, special attention should be paid to the quality and performance of these two layers.

Based on the application scenario requirements

Industrial transportation scenario: In the mining of polymetallic nodules, as a transportation channel connecting the ore collector and the intermediate bin, the transportation function of the hose should be considered. For example, whether it can meet the requirements for transporting polymetallic nodules, including the particle size of the nodules, the speed and efficiency of transportation, etc.; the flexibility and operability of the hose when the ore collector is freely traveling in a certain area should also be considered; as well as special functional requirements such as isolating disturbances from mining ships.

Transportation of special liquids or gases: For the transportation of expensive, high-temperature, flammable, explosive, corrosive, and polluting liquids and gases, a composite hose with excellent anti-rupture and anti-leakage properties should be selected. This composite hose is composed of a multi-material multi-layer sealing structure, which can work stably in harsh environments to ensure that it will not burst suddenly and prevent the leakage of hazardous substances.
