Rubber compensator, also known as flexible rubber joint, soft connection, etc., is a compensating element widely used in pipeline systems. Its main functions include shock absorption, noise reduction, and compensation for thermal expansion and displacement of pipelines. This compensator can not only effectively reduce the vibration and noise of the pipeline system, but also fundamentally solve the problems of interface displacement, axial expansion and non-concentricity of various pipelines.

Structural characteristics and material selection
Rubber compensators are mainly composed of smooth corrugated compensating elements with rubber flanges at both ends and metal flanges. The surface of the corrugated compensating element is rubber, and the inner layer is a reinforced interlayer of several layers of strong fiber or steel belt (wire), which extends to the rubber flanges at both ends, and there is a hard steel wire skeleton in the flange. This structural design gives the rubber compensator the following characteristics:
Structural characteristics
Reasonable structure: good elasticity and thermal expansion and contraction range.
Small reaction force: less impact on the pipe support.
Multi-directional compensation capability: can provide greater multi-dimensional directional compensation within a smaller size range.
Material selection
The rubber compensator has a variety of material options. According to different use environments and medium characteristics, different types of rubber materials such as acid-resistant, alkali-resistant, corrosion-resistant, oil-resistant, and heat-resistant can be selected. Common rubber materials include natural synthetic rubber, EPDM rubber, nitrile rubber, and butyl rubber.
